Why Choose St. Joseph Elementary School?

St. Joseph Elementary School has served Alameda and surrounding communities since 1881.  Students in grades Transitional Kindergarten through Eighth flourish in a strong academic environment. St. Joseph is fully accredited through Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and Western Catholic Education Association (WCEA). In addition to a solid academic curriculum in religion, mathematics, English/language arts, science, Spanish, and social studies, students also participate in music, art, and physical education. Technology is integrated in daily classroom teaching across all curriculums. An extended care program provides families with after school service for their children.

In our commitment to educate the whole child, students are given opportunities to celebrate Mass and receive the sacraments. Christian service outreach to the school, parish, and greater community gives students and families the chance to live out their part in giving back. There are opportunities for participation in sports programs through Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) in our East Bay Parochial League (EBPL).
