Dear Parents of Future Royals,

Thank you for considering Saint Joseph Elementary School as the educational family for your child. It is within a family environment that a child thrives emotional, intellectually, spiritually, and physically. Saint Joseph Elementary School recognizes that you, the parent, are the primary educators of your child, and we would be honored to assist in your ministry of parenting and educating.

Founded in 1881, Saint Joseph Elementary School is in its 140thacademic year serving the community of Alameda. Through all that time, our school mission has stayed certain: we promote the values of faith, intellectual depth, service, community building, and well-informed decision-making. We believe these are skills that our students need as they live in a time of rapid change.

Our faculty is committed to providing intentionally strong relationships with our students, to give them guidance, and to foster within them a vibrant curiosity about learning. Our teachers are committed to their own ongoing growth as professionals. We strive to model this type of commitment and dedication so our students may reap the benefits.

At Saint Joseph Elementary School, you will quickly learn that you belong to a community larger than our school. We have close ties, not only within our elementary school, but to our parish and to our high school community as well. We are a strong, vibrant, warm, and faith-filled community.

Please contact our Admissions Director, Carla VanDerveer at or at 510-995-9415, to schedule a personal tour so you may experience the community that is St. Joseph Elementary School.

Peace and Blessings,

Mrs. Danielle Colvert
