Dear St. Joseph Elementary School Parents and Guardians,

I hope that this letter finds you and your family happy and safe, and enjoying the Summer Break. Here at St. Joseph Elementary School, our faculty and staff have been working hard to finish preparing for the 2019-2020 school year: general maintenance, academic planning, scheduling, advancement, and more. We are working to ensure that next school year will be a year of good learning, hard work, joy, and positivity. With this in mind, it is quiet without our students here, but I know that before long our school will again be filled with the joyous noise of laughter in the hallways, school bells ringing, and learning and conversation in the classrooms.

I have officially started my work as Principal of St. Joseph Elementary School. I would like to take this opportunity to briefly share with you my vision for next year and my educational philosophy. I am committed as a Principal to being a servant leader who is visible, engaged, and in the classrooms every day. I believe in the importance of relationships and relational trust between school and parents, and so building and maintaining those relationships will be a priority for me. I am committed to putting your children first in all that I do; this means that your children will be the focus of all my actions and decisions in the spirit of unconditional love. Every day, I will challenge our students to do and be their best. I will support their goals, hopes, and dreams, and I will share in their successes and their challenges. In the spirit of our school’s Mission Statement, I will promote “nurturing the whole child” so that all of our students learn to value not only their academics, but also their faith, their sense of being a good community member, and their gifts in the areas of arts and athletics. I will care enough to hold our students accountable, but always with dignity. I will promote a school culture of joy, positivity, and kindness.

I believe that you, the parents and guardians, are the primary educators in your children’s lives. I want you to know how much I honor and appreciate our parent-school partnership as we work together to help your children learn and grow. That being said, I will add that the faculty and staff at St. Joseph Elementary School are comprised of professional educators who work tirelessly every day to serve your children. Their work here at school enhances the work you do as a parent/guardian in your child(ren)’s education. When it comes to communicating issues and concerns, it is my expectation that you will follow our school policy and communicate to the appropriate party. If the concern or issue remains unresolved, then I will gladly partner with you to find resolution. Thank you for continuing to place your trust in us as dedicated educators.

Please know – my door is always open to you as parents, and I wantyou to stop by and say hello from time to time so that I can get to know each and every one of your more. I also want you to get to know me as a Principal, since this is a different role than my previous positions here at St. Joseph. In my role as Principal, I am here to support youin addition to supporting our wonderful students, faculty and staff, parish, and larger St. Joseph community.

For those of you who are new to the St. Joseph Elementary School family, I wish you a very special welcome.

Enclosed with this letter are staffing announcements and key dates for the 2019-2020 school year. I encourage you to look at the Parent Portal on our school’s website to view a more detailed calendar.

I wish you a relaxing and fun-filled rest of the summer with your family and friends. Please know that I am honored, humbled, and thrilled to serve as Principal for this wonderful school and your children. Thank you for already making me feel so welcome in my new role.

Peace and Blessings,

Ms. Francisco
