Athletics
St. Joseph Elementary School participates in boys and girls cross country, boys and girls basketball, girls volleyball, and boys sand volleyball as a member of the East Bay Parochial League (EBPL) and the Oakland Diocese Catholic Youth Organization (CYO). Involvement in the sports program fosters a sense of fair play, sportsmanship, and responsibility for one’s actions. Students are provided the opportunity to develop physical abilities, to understand the value of exercise, and to encourage a healthy lifestyle.
In order to participate in the sports program, parents must submit to the school office a parental permission form, a code of conduct form, and a check payable to St. Joseph Elementary School to cover sports’ program costs including equipment, referees, and gym rentals. The annual athletic program cost is $130 for the first student in the family and $65 for each sibling.
