Born and raised in Oakland and a product of Catholic elementary (St. Elizabeth), high school (St. Elizabeth), and college (College of the Holy Names, now Holy Names University), I have wanted to be a teacher from my "earliest days." Given my faith, family, and my educational experiences, Catholic schools were my one and only choice. Upon college graduation, I traveled to a very small town in Tularosa, New Mexico, where I served as a lay volunteer for two wonderful years. When I returned home, I began teaching at St. Bernard, then St. Benedict, then St. Elizabeth, then St. Jarlath, and now St. Joseph. As I begin my 11th year here at St. Joseph, I am constantly reminded of the great gifts of Catholic education: faith, values, knowledge, children, and community. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else!
