Administrative Team/2nd Grade
I really never thought that I would be a teacher "when I grew up". But making that decision to become an educator was definitely one of the best decisions I ever made. I have been teaching in the Oakland Diocese Catholic school system for many years now. For most of those years I have been a second grade teacher. I enjoy the second graders love of learning and sheer enthusiasm for the world around them. They are absolutely the primary reason why I come to school each and every day! (Often times, I believe that they teach me just as much as I teach them for teaching surely is based on community-building in many ways!)
A few years ago, I made another decision that was very important to me. I had always wanted to go back to school and get my masters degree in some educational field. I accomplished that goal in 2014 when I received my Masters in Teacher Leadership from St. Mary's College. It goes to show that you can indeed teach an experienced teacher new tricks!
In my "spare time" I am also a swim coach. I love the great outdoors, and being on the pool deck allows me to be outside and continue using teaching skills in a slightly different way. At home, I love spending time with my wonderful husband and our many fur babies. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your child's educational journey.
